Bangkok is a great place to visit. But before you shoot off to the kingdom, it is better to know some customs about the place thereby avoiding the trouble. It is natural that people smile to greet each other. Learn to smile. Smile is used not only to greet people, but in Bangkok, it represents that you are sorry or you are apologizing for something you did wrong.
The second most important thing is to show respect to the king. Do not say anything or joke against the king. You also need to show respect to the national anthem by standing still if it is being played anywhere.
For women, it is recommended not to touch any monk. This is prohibited. Also, while entering a temple, remove your footwear. Do not use your feet to get things done. Normally most of us tend to use our feet for a great many things such as opening a door. This is equivalent to disgracing something or someone if you use your feet to do something.
Overall, be cheerful and keep smiling. In case any mistake happens and you realize it, apologize instantly with a smile.
