Known as a popular mining town today, finds its origin in the second half of the 12th Century when it was inhabited by Emperor Barbosa, whose actual name was Fredrick. At that point of time, Dortmund was only a small village; however, in the due course of time, the place has developed to a great extent.

Today, the place has many places that are worth watching. If you ever went on a pleasure trip there, you must see certain places that are very attractive for every visitor. The first of these places is the fantastic Westphalian Industrial Museum Zollern Colliery. It is wonderful place that is a perfect example of progress. Haus Bodelschwingh is a moated castle.

Along with this castle, the castle of Hous Delwig is also developed as a tourist spot. These stupendous castles are perfect examples of craftsmanship. These days, some new medieval buildings and Gothic churches have also been reconstructed to make the place even more attractive.

If you wish to enjoy your vacation at a new and unknown destination, then you must think about Dresden. This wonderful location in has everything to offer that a tourist desires of. Though this place is open all through the year, it is wonderful in the cold months of December. The temperature and other situations that influence the visitors are perfect during these clod days. You can enjoy the whole setting to the maximum.

The main attraction of the place is its Christmas Market, which is popularly called Weihnachtsmarkt. This is a type of festival here that continues for a month. Though these Christmas markets are very common in Germany, the one at Dresden is a different story altogether. The way in which it is organized is really fascinating. The presence of the popular fairy characters makes the celebration more enjoyable for all the visitors, especially the little kids. You can enjoy this type of celebration at least once in a year.

One of the largest festivals of the world, Oktoberfest in Munich happens at a large open area called Weisn, which has enormous tents set up. One can find thousands of people drinking beer and having fun at this festival. One of the major events of the fest is Trachten- und Schützenzug when thousands of leather trousers are carried by Germans following Munich’s Child who wears a large coat and rides a horse, much like St. Martin did.

An interesting thing about the festival is that one can pay only in plastic currency called Biermarke which is available in the tents. The Mayor of Munich taps the first barrel of beer in the beer hall called Schottenhammel and people indulge themselves in 1 liter mugs of beer. One can also enjor German Volksmusik which is the name given to folk music in Germany. The festival also has many Disneyland-like attractions for children as well.

Many of us plan each year and then postpone the holiday to the next year. Why? There are many tourist destinations in the world that are very cheap hence are affordable.

One such destination is London. There are very cheap flight rates owing to the competition among the air liners. Accommodations and food is also cheap. There are several modes of transport that are not only cheaper but connect you to almost all parts of the city.

Playa del Carmon, in the Caribbean is the cheapest destination among the different spots of the Caribbean destinations. You can also visit the neighboring places on foot or local conveyance.

Asia is also an affordable choice. The only thing you have to worry is how to get to the destination at cheaper costs. Once you are at your destination, you can stay in lodges or small hotels that do not charge much. You can also save on food.

If you think that Las Vegas is meant only for the rich and famous, you are wrong. It is true that most of the rich visit Las Vegas for its casino appeal. But for you too, there are ample choices.

Argentina is another travel destination that won’t burn a hole in your pocket. There are plenty of cheap yet decent hotels with good food. The only major expenses you will incur are the flight expenses.

If you’re traveling to Turkey, you’re going the love the experience. Apart from great cultural heritage and brilliant architecture that has survived over the years, here’s a place that makes all necessary endeavors to revive traditions and make them part of daily life. Whether its food preparation, ingredients or eating habits, they do it just like yesteryears. A predominantly Muslim region, it’s a fine mix of ethnicity. For travelers the markets can be a daily sojourn because there’s so much to see. It’s not just the cobbled roads and football team that demands attention, every road you walk past will be embedded in memory lane.

Having suffered in the hands of Nazi German invasions, Estonia was a part of the German province of Ostland in the past. Though liberated from its past, it’s a rather new country having gained its singular sovereignty as late as 1991. It played its part in the Moscow Olympic Games of 1980 to host sailing events at the capital city of Tallinn. The major languages spoken here are Russian and Estonian. Here s a country that spent rubles that always mesmerized you from Russian folktales. A startling fact about Estonians is that there was a period when alcoholism was a health hazard here as citizens consumed 11.2 liters of absolute alcohol each year.
